Joel Obadiah Tate is a drummer, producer and musical director.

Over the course of his professional career, Joel has shared the stage with such artists as; Gerald Albright, Alex Bugnon, Will Downing, Hadrien Feraud, Lalah Hathaway, Julian Junior Marvin and The Legendary Wailers, Kindred the Family Soul, Kenny Lattimore, Ledisi, Maysa, Frank McComb, Byron Miller, Chante Moore, Najee, Phil Perry, Damien Sneed, Brian Simpson, Avery Sunshine, Gerald Veasley, Kirk Whalum, and numerous others. 

As a professional drummer, Joel honed his skills through countless hours of practice and dedication - evidenced by his melodic and thoughtful approach to drumming. From Gospel and R&B to Jazz, and Rock. Joel has mastered various genres and creates rhythms that drive straight to the soul.

Born and raised in the D.C. metro area, Joel opted for L.A.'s palm trees and sunshine in 2020 where he began to stretch out as a producer. His musical acumen continues to open doors from coast to coast as a session drummer and live performing artist.  

Joel's talents extend far beyond the drums, and as a producer, he has the ability to bring out the best in any artist he works with. With his keen ear for detail and knack for capturing the essencee of a song, Joel can transform a simple melody into a masterpiece.
